The Nigerian leaders committed humanitarian crimes by blocking international bodies from dropping off necessary supplies to Biafran lands.

Nigeria was led by Gen. Yakubu Gowon while Lt. Col. Odumegwu Ojukwu led the Biafran soldiers.

The war resulted from political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tension.
