A SYMBOLIC ACT OF AFRICAN CUSTOM

A symbolic act of African custom. A virgin girl jumps over a horse that suffers from stomach pain so that the animal will regain her health. The horse will not get up if the girl is not a virgin. Mama Africa

YORUBA BEWARE SOUTHWEST BE VIGILANT

This is exactly what is happening in Lagos.
A CALL FOR CONCERN!!!

Dear all, please we want to call our attention to some observations we believe we must voice out and share in order for all of us to be vigilant and keep our eyes wide open in our communities and environments.

We have noticed with great fears and concerns, the daily increase in the rate of proliferation and influx of Northern youths (Hausa/Fulani) being brought in and transported into Ibadan especially and the Yoruba speaking areas of the Southwest region generally in uncountable trailers as a result of migration under the guise of insurgency/terrorism in the North.

We would have kept quiet but our greatest surprise is the rate at which they are brought in and immediately get engaged in some trades/businesses within a short period of their arrival here.

You will recall that the military, through their investigations, discovered that Boko Haram members have their informants among the people of which many of them were shoemakers, okada riders etc.

If we look around us and take close watch, you will discover that these Northern youths (migrants) are energetic and physically fit youths.

Please, our security apparatus and especially each and everyone of us individually and collectively should try to know if these northern youths who have now engaged in trades such as Okada riding, Fruits selling, Mobile tailors, Shoe repairers, Water merchants and other kind of street hawking businesses that allow them to move from one place to another into our interior communities are indeed genuine Nigerians, and not the Boko Haram terrorists or the killer Fulani herdsmen rampaging here and there.

Our interaction with some of them shows that most of them are not even Nigerians and there are some questions we need to ask ourselves in order to keep safe and ward off any emergency external attacks and aggressions:

* Where are they from?

*Who invited them?

*Who is harbouring them or giving them places to stay or sleep at night?

*Where did they get the money to start their emergency businesses?

*Do they actually and really rely on these their trade for survival or they have other sinister motives?

*Why do they hide their phones from the public glare at day time yet they use these same phones in the evening when they gather together with their colleagues?

*Why do we have only male youths coming down south?

*Where are their wives, children and other close family members?

*Why do they converge at designated points in the evening while their okada riders refuse to carry passengers during that period?

*Finally, are they paying TAX to the state government for all these their supposed trades/businesses?

If truly love our dear lives and properties, and we are all indeed together for the peace, safety and progress of our Communities,State and Nigeria as a whole, please let’s be Careful, Vigilant, Watchful and be at Alert at all times and every time to what is going on around us day and night.

This alert is not meant to indict, create panics or cause any disaffections, but to call our attention and to carry out what the government has always advised us to do.

*IF YOU SEE SOMETHING!*
*SAY SOMETHING!*

*YORUBA, BEWARE,BE WATCHFUL.

President, Muhammadu Buhari Said Nigerians should stop going abroad for medical treatment.

President, Muhammadu Buhari ,Friday, said Nigerians should stop going abroad for medical treatment.

“Nigerians have suffered so much going abroad for medical treatment. This is not good for us and it must stop because we can’t afford it again,” he said.

The President , stated this at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, during the inauguration and handover of completed projects to the management of the hospital.

According to him, the project was executed to check flooding and gully erosion in the hospital.

The President, who was represented at the event by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, lamented the devastating effects of flooding in the South-East geo-political zone, saying the intervention project would bring relief to the hospital, the state and its neighbours.

He said the siting of the project in Ebonyi State signalled an end to the era in the country where some parts of Nigeria were neglected as a result of corruption and favouritism. He stressed that the location of the project in major teaching hospitals across the country showed that no part of the country would be neglected again.
“We have paid very serious attention to the health of our people and will continue to do so. The projects you celebrate their completion today were seriously affecting the workings of this teaching hospital. But today, we can say their completion have started helping to improve on the performance and welfare of both the staff and patients of this hospital.

“I wish to use this medium to congratulate the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, and his team in the Ecological Fund Office; the project contractor, Messrs Amayaro Nigeria Limited, as well as the project consultant, Messrs Kanode and Associates Limited, for their commitment to ensuring timely and speedy completion of the project.”

Did Jagaban really loot Lagos? You be the judge.

A Twitter user[@Tutsy22] couldn’t hide his displeasure about the former Governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and he went on his page to rant about his displeasure. Here are some excerpts and in his very own words;

To start with, Number 4, Oyikan Abayomi (formerly Queens) Drive, Ikoyi, A 5- bedroom detached house on one acre of land which was originally the Lagos State Governor’s Guest House since 1973, now belongs to a former Governor of the state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The certificate of occupancy of the property, valued at N450 million, was signed and released to him by his successor, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), in 2007 shortly after he assumed office.

It might be difficult to come to terms with the fact that whenever someone in Lagos begins to wonder where their 4th mainland bridge went or what was the fate of the pipe-borne water project or even where the schools and hospitals had vanished to, there is silence.

Tinubu’s residence at 26 Bourdillion Road, Ikoyi was initially falsely PRESENTED as Oando Plc Guest House. Later, he purportedly bought it from Oando and used public funds to rebuild and renovate it.

The Lagos State Government bought the property and paid an undisclosed sum to him and thereafter gave the property back to him under the bogus pension bill he signed into law shortly before he left office in 2007. The property is worth over N600 million.

The annex of the Lagos State Guest House in Asokoro, Abuja was bought by the State Government in 2006 for N450 million, purportedly to protect the main house from a security breach.

Shortly after Tinubu left office, the property was transferred to him under the pension plan he signed into law before leaving the office.

The 250-hectares of land valued at about N35 billion and strategically located at the Ajah junction on Lekki Road was initially meant for a General Hospital for the people of Eti-Osa Local Government but was acquired by Tinubu and handed over to Trojan Estate Limited – a company owned by Deji and Wale Tinubu – to develop as Royal Garden Housing Estate at the expense of the taxpayers of Lagos.

The 1,000 hectares of land valued at about N75 billion located at Lakowe, near Abijo at Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area and given to Lekki Concession Company, which is partly owned by Tinubu and Fashola, has been developed as a golf course and housing estate.[Lakowe golf resort]

The prime land of 157 hectares with 2.5km of Atlantic beachfront, valued at about N10 billion was “taken” by Tinubu from the communities of Siriwon, Igbekodo, Apakin, etc in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area and given to Ibukun Fakeye-his crony to build a golf course and luxury villa with little or no compensation to villagers. In addition, Tinubu paid $20 million (N3 billion) out of public treasury to Ibukun Fakeye to commence the project in late 2006.

The 14 hectares Parkview Ikoyi Estate foreshore land reclaimed by the Lagos State Government is now owned by Tinubu. While in office, he allocated to himself the former Strabag Yard beside the Lagos State Secretariat at Alausa, Ikeja. The property has now been developed into a SHOPPING mall as big as the Palms in Lekki. This is public property brazenly stolen and now owned by Tinubu, aided by Fashola.[You know it as ICM]

The choice property at Lekki-Epe Road on which he built and owns the multi-billion Naira Oriental HOTEL AND the extension of the multi-storey car park beside it is also a story of the misrule of Lagos State.

Also, the multi-level recreation centre by Mobil Oniru Estate on Lekki-Epe road jointly owned with ARM and Tunji Olowolafe. All these assets valued at over N25 billion were obtained without paying a kobo to the Lagos State Government.

Tinubu raised a loan of N4.7 billion on Eko Akete project for which nothing was achieved before he turned around to sell the property to his Chagouri friends of Chagouri & Chagouri and Hitech Construction Ltd at a ridiculously low price at the expense of taxpayers of Lagos

Tinubu applied to personally purchase the Federal Secretariat building while in office. When he couldn’t get to buy it, he directed Fashola to stop the eventual owner of the complex from developing it.

Several other buyers of Federal Government properties and developers of properties in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Government Reservation Area in Ikeja were forced to succumb to the outrageous demand of Tinubu, Fashola and other officials of the state government.

The Critical Care Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja, built and equipped with state funds, is now owned personally by Tinubu. He has put ONE Dr. Sikiru Tinubu (a supposed cousin of his) to run the outfit. It is run as a private unit & the proceeds are pocketed by the duo. The unit charges its users exorbitantly and most Lagosians can’t afford to pay its high charges. Much of d revenue is derived from fees paid by d. State Govt for patients referred there by its General Hospitals.

Several prominent Nigerians in the judiciary, police, the Independent National Electoral Commission and other sensitive agencies have obtained prime land from Tinubu and then Governor Fashola over the years without paying a kobo.

Many of them had turned around to sell the land at a substantial profit. Many top officials in the police, INEC and the judiciary who participated in the 2003 and 2007 elections in states where Tinubu has interest were compromised with parcels of free prime Lagos land and cash.

If the Lagos State Land’s Bureau could publish d names & identities of beneficiaries of land allotees from 2000 to date, d scandal that will result is better imagined. Gbenga Ashafa, now a senator & Mrs Awofisayo were the conduits through which these acts were being perpetrated.

Ok this is crazy! What’s your take on this?

YOU MATTER

You are a ten over ten, maybe, maybe not. But have you really ever paused to check the reality of your thoughts or assumptions?

Have you really ever paused to check if you are only all about your good body structure, your fancy clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags and even your face bits?

Have you really ever paused to check you through beyond your possessions or your achievements?

Your health should in all the right sense of it come first, it is oftentimes what stands in the way of your existence in a pure and healthy state of mind and body.

You are a woman, you have got all it takes to live and feel good. Just some random check on your boobs every other day everyday, and you will be just fine and a ten in its truth; a system free on cancerous cells, or at least, being medically attended to, whatever the case may be.

Remember, your health is your wealth, LIVE AND STAY HEALTHY, you are all that truly matters.
